One month old!

It is so hard to believe, but our little girl is already one month old today! Time seems to have flown by in a flurry of sleepless nights, diaper changes and seemingly endless breastfeeding.  It has been a month of learning and a few small trials but Mairi has brought so much joy to our lives that it has been the most amazing month of my life.  I love just watching her: she makes the funniest faces and is the noisiest sleeper/eater in the world.  She makes a whole barnyard full of sounds!  She can move a lot already - her neck is very strong and she can keep her head up for about a minute at a time.  The other weekend she moved 90 degrees in her bed.  She is sleeping up to four hours at a time, though mostly its between 2 and 3.5 hours. She continues to be a great eater.  My nickname is now simply "Milk" and all I really have to do is show up and she does the rest now. She is great in the car and on stroller rides and for the most part does not fuss much.  Anyone can hold her and, provided she is not starving, she will be happy as a clam.  She has met so many people so far and is really looking forward to meeting her Uncle Dan and Auntie Devon tomorrow for the first time.

Her tongue is always sticking out and her cheeks are unreal since she has put on weight - so cute! Last time we had her weighed (two weeks ago) she was already at 8lbs, 8 oz!  She put on two lbs. in two weeks!  I'm sure she is well over 9 lbs. now.  She has had a bit of trouble with diaper rash but we got some prescription cream and it has cleared up.  We had to stop using the cloth diapers for a week but are just starting back on them today so hopefully they will still work out.  We are used to them now and they are really not a big deal...and we feel way better about using them and cloths with water instead of wipes.

She is starting to wake up from her nap so I will leave you with some of my favourite pictures from her first month.
